YUAN Ming


YUAN Ming, female, was born in August 1945 in Shanghai. She serves in Peking University as the Dean of Yenching Academy, Vice Dean of Institute of International and Strategic Studies, Director of American Studies Center and of Institute of International Relations, and a professor and doctoral supervisor of School of International Studies. She was once a member of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the Foreign Affairs Committee of CPPCC, China National Committee of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific and U.S.-China Advisory Group of China’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and the Director of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs. At abroad, she also serves as the board member of Asia Society (New York, U.S.), the consultant of Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies of Brookings Institution (Washington, D.C., U.S.), Society for International Affairs of Oxford University (UK) as well as Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (Singapore), and the visiting professor of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan).
