Professor and doctoral supervisor of Department of Sociology and Institute of Sociology and Anthropology of Peking University. Former head of Department of Sociology and Institute of Sociology and Anthropology of Peking University. Expert for the preparation of a Tibetology research institute in Peking University. Member of the academic committee of China Tibetology Research Center. Part-time vice-chairman of China Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences, deputy director of China Ethnological Association, deputy director of China Anthropological Association, executive managing director of China Sociological Association, head of union for professional studies on ethnology and sociology, and executive managing director of China Union of Education for Ethnic Minorities.
