The 11th Annual North Pavillion Dialogue, hosted by the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) at Peking University, was held on October 23-24, 2025, under the theme “Global Political Trends and the Destiny of U.S. Hegemony.” The dialogue gathered leading scholars and policymakers to discuss U.S. domestic transformation, its foreign policy, and global power shifts. Participants exchanged views on global realignment and called for enhanced international cooperation in promoting peace and stability.
Jia Qingguo, Member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, Professor of the School of International Studies at Peking University and Director of the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding(iGCU) , and Wang Dong, Professor of the School of International Studies of Peking University, and Executive Director of the iGCU, attended the conference. Professor Wang also chaired the fifth session on China-U.S. relations.
Distinguished speakers included Lionel Barber, former Editor-in-Chief of the Financial Times; Robert D. Blackwill, Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center; David Miliband, former UK Foreign Secretary; and Thierry de Montbrial, Executive Chairman of IFRI, among others.
