DING Ning


DING Ning, male, Han nationality, was born in 1960 and is a native of Ningbo, Zhejiang. He obtained a doctoral degree in literature in Beijing Normal University. He is professor, doctoral supervisor and deputy department head of School of Arts of Peking University, part-time director of China Artists Association, secretary-general of theory committee of China Artists Association, member of the planning committee of Beijing International Art Biennale, member of artistic program review committee of the National Social Science Fund of China, member of college artistic education steering committee of the Ministry of Education and member of the steering committee for the teaching of the Master of Fine Arts (professional degree). His main research fields are fine arts and art psychology. He authored Receptional Aesthetics, Fine Arts Psychology, A Duree Perspective on the History of Arts, The Depths of Arts and translated Tradition and desire : from David to Delacroix, Depths of Glory: A Biographical Novel of Camille Pissarro, Looking at the Overlooked: Four Essays on Still Life Painting and Media Culture.
