Abstract: What criteria do societies around the world use to build political order and what kind of political life do they pursue? How have the political goals of countries changed with the change of time and the evolution of history? Is there an invariable goal that all mankind should strive for? The Ultimate Goal of World Politics focuses on the exploration of this topic. The author believes that security, wealth, faith, freedom and justice are the eternal themes, basic values and goals of world politics. People’s pursuit of power, creation of states, and promotion of democracy and rule of law are all ways and means to achieve these five goals. Through studying the five major goals and their interrelationships, people can understand the identity and diversity of regional politics, clarify the criteria for judging the success or failure of a country, broaden the horizon of observing world politics, and gain in-depth knowledge of the development trend of contemporary world politics.
