OnOctober 12, 2024,Prof.WANG Dong (Professor of the School of International Studies at @Peking University;Director of iGCU) spoke atthe“ZhongHong Forum(China Macroeconomics Forum)”(中宏论坛), sponsored by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), where he highlighted the significanceofpromoting internationalpeople-to-people exchangesand facilitating mutual understanding among civilizations.
In his speech, titled, “Promoting International People-to-People Exchanges,Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind”, Prof. Wang underscored howChina’s five-thousand-yearhistoryand richculturalheritage havestrengthened its outlook and efforts on internationalpeople-to-peopleexchanges and cooperation. He discussed the country’s role in constructing a global network for inter-civilization dialogues and facilitatingmutual learning amongculturesworldwide.Prof. Wang stated thatChinahas been actively promotingcultural exchangesandmutual understanding,withits voice becoming increasingly influential on the international arena. China’s efforts, he added, have providedfirmcultural support for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and laid asolidcultural foundation for building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Looking ahead, Prof. Wang reckons that the trend of economic globalization is unstoppable.He further emphasized that China’s goal of fosteringamore interconnected and collaborative future for all nations centers onbuildingan open, inclusive, clean,andharmoniousworld of lasting peace, universal security,andcommonprosperity.“China will further strengthen international people-to-people exchanges,setup a global network for inter-civilization dialogues, facilitate mutual understanding,andpromote thevision of a community with a shared future for mankind,” said Prof. Wang.
