On November 3, 2025, Amb. Yu Hongjun (Former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee; Senior Advisor of iGCU) delivered a keynote speech at the “China-ASEAN Seminar on Cooperation between Administrative Colleges and Think Tanks” hosted by the National Academy of Governance and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Government.

Amb. Yu observed that the world is undergoing profound transformations amid a shifting international landscape. In response, China has proposed a vision of a community with a shared future for mankind and promoted practical cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative, offering Chinese solutions to global challenges.

Amb. Yu emphasized that China’s geographical and historical connections with ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member states have further deepened relations in recent years. Despite localized disputes, cooperation remains strong, with expanding trade and connectivity demonstrating sustained momentum. As key members of the Global South, both sides share a consensus on governance and civilization. China continues to advance high-level opening-up and contributes to global public goods.

Amb. Yu concludes that under frameworks such as the “10+1” and RCEP, China and ASEAN should strengthen dialogue, share governance experiences, coordinate development and security issues, advance regional modernization, and collaborate to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
