International Seminar on “International Conflict Mediation” with the Stimson Centre

From January 10th to 11th, 2019, the Institute for China-Foreign People-to-People Exchange of Peking University and the Stimson Centre,a prestigious American think tank, co-hosted the international seminar on “International Conflict Mediation: China’s Resources and Experience”. Nearly 40 Chinese and foreign experts and scholars from different fields exchanged their views on topics including the politics of conflict mediation, cases of regional mediation and technological politics in mediation.

The seminar consisted of four sessions which put together high profile scholars, including Professor Tang Shiqi, Professor Jia Qingguo, former Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee Chen Xiaogong, Charge d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy in China Mattis Raustøl, Senior Advisor of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kristina Lie Revheim, Ambassador Wu Sike and other academics and politicians. The sessions were presided over by Executive Director of the Institute Wang Dong, Director of the Stimson Centre’s East Asia Program Sun Yun, Director of the Centre for African Studies of Peking University Liu Haifang and Professor of the China Foreign Affairs University Su Hao.
