As a well-known independent think tank in India, the Observer Research Foundation, founded in 1990, brings together India’s top economists and political scholars to provide intellectual support to the Indian government’s policy decisions and the Indian business community. In the early days of its establishment, it mainly proposed solutions to India’s domestic economic problems in the 1990s. And the current research covers security and strategy, government governance, environment, energy and resources, and economy and growth. The Ji Xianlin Center for India-China Studies, University of Mumbai was established in 2016, enthusiastically initiated and funded by people from India who are friendly to China. Its establishment shows the desire of Indian intellectual and business circles to study China, and reflects the leaping course of China-Indian relations “from inch to mile” advocated by Prime Minister Modi.
