LIN Jianhua, male, Han Ethnicity, was born in October 1955 in Gaomi, Shandong Province. He acquired his PhD at Peking University. LIN was a Deputy to the 11th, and the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC). He is the Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC. He is a chemist, education official, PhD in Science, professor and doctoral supervisor. He worked as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the President of Chongqing University, and the same positions at Zhejiang University and Peking University. He holds concurrent posts of the Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Commission of Ministry of Education, the Chairman of the Science Specialty Committee of China Higher Education Society, the Chairman of the Chinese Crystallographic Society and Vice Chairman of Beijing Association for Science and Technology. He has undertaken a wide collection of research and development programs, supported by General Programs, Key Programs, and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of the National Natural Science Foundation of China; National Basic Research Program; National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), etc., of which some he is still working on today. He has published over 140 academic papers.
