ZHOU Mingwei, male, Han Ethnicity, was born in May 1955 in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. He is a delegate to the 16th and 18th CPC National Congress, a member of the 12th National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and a member of Public Diplomacy Convener of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of CPPCC. Zhou once served as the President of China International Publishing Group and Deputy Director of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council. Now, he is the President of Translators Association of China, the Dean of China Academy of Translation, the Chinese member of the Fifth 21st Century Committee for China-Japan Friendship, the Vice Chairman of China Eco-Culture Association, a standing member of China Association for Preservation & Development of Tibetan Culture, Council of the Confucius Institute Headquarters as well as China Public Diplomacy Association, and an honorary professor of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (Moscow-based High-end International Commercial College).
