The Lanting Forum on “Chinese Modernization and the World” was held at the Meet-the-World Lounge Grand in Shanghai. The Forum was organized by the China Public Diplomacy Association and the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs,co-organized by iGCU,and was supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It's the 1st time that the Lanting Forum was held outside Beijing.

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the Forum. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.Representatives of governments, think tanks and the media from nearly 80 countries participated in the Forum.

Prof. Kishore Mahbubani is a Distinguished Fellow at the Asia Research Institute of National University of Singapore, and Invited Expert of iGCU. Panel Session C of the Forum themed “Closer People-to-people exchanges for greater Prosperity of Civilizations.”

In the speech of Prof. Kishore Mahbubani, he talked about the long-term friendship and win-win cooperation between China and ASEAN, suggesting that the relationships between China and ASEAN member states could serve as the role model for the world.
