From May 30 to June 3, 2022, the 4th Seminar in Operation and Management of International School (SOMIS) Principal Forum, organized by the Graduate School of Education, Peking University, was successfully held. Scholars and the alumni of SOMIS were invited to the forum. The development and new standards of international education were extensively discussed.

Prof. Wang Dong (Executive Director of iGCU and Professor of School of Int'l Studies at PKU) was invited to the sub-forum (themed "Openness and Innovation in Education") as keynote speaker. Prof. Wang's speech focused on the effects of globalization on international education, as well as the new features and future trend of globalization.

Prof. Wang suggested that every country should make full use of the "buffer time" provided by "slowbalisation", actively seek for a new model that enable the healthy development of globalization, and eventually promote "reglobalization" as well as the upgrading of the existing international structure.

Moreover, Prof. Wang also shared the iGCU's practical experience in promoting and facilitating the people-to-people exchanges between China and the world in the past years. He further indicated that the internationalization of education had undergone fundamental changes under the influence of globalization, and is now facing both challenges and opportunities. Thus, it is important for every country to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of education, and work together to construct a better-developed international education governance system.
