The New U.S. Administration and China-U.S. Relations in the New Era

On December 18, 2020, the third of the series seminars "2020 U.S. Elections and China-U.S. Relations", named "The New U.S. Administration and China-U.S. Relations in the New Era" successfully held. The series was co-hosted by the Chinese Association of American Studies, the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (iGCU) of Peking University and the Intellisia Institute. The seminar, focusing on hotspot issues of common concerns to the Chinese academic community, gathered researchers from all sides to contribute new ideas and strategies to the development of China-U.S. relations.

Wang Jisi, Boya Professor at Peking University, Dean of the Institute of International Strategic Studies and Senior Advisor to iGCU of Peking University, delivered a keynote speech themed “The New U.S. Administration and China-U.S. Relations in the New Era”.

Afterwards, Xie Tao, Dean of the School of International Relations and Diplomacy of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Wang Honggang, Director of the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Huang Jing, Academic Dean of the Academy of International and Regional Studies of Beijing Language and Culture University, Qi Haixia, Associate Professor of the Institute of Contemporary International Relations of Tsinghua University, and Zhou Fangyin, Dean of the School of International Relations of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, spoke and shared their insights and observations. Qi Haotian, Secretary-General of iGCU of Peking University, and Chen Dingding, Professor of the School of International Studies of Jinan University and Director of Intellisia Institute, presided over the speeches and discussion sessions respectively.

Finally, Ni Feng, Director of the Institute of American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and President of the Chinese Association of American Studies (AACS), made concluding remarks on the conference.
