From December 16 to 18, 2020, Phoenix Satellite Television and Phoenix New Media, together with the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (iGCU) of Peking University, the American Chamber of Commerce in China and the China-United States Exchange Foundation, organized the "A Dialogue with the World · Pacific Future Forum 2020" forum. The forum was divided into seven sub-forums revolving around different themes: diplomacy, science and technology, economy and trade, public health, climate, youth, and poverty reduction. The most important figures in the political, economic, industrial and academic fields around the world were specially invited to explore and discuss how to tackle global challenges and contribute to future global development.

As the presidential election came to an end in the US, China-US relations encountered an opportunity for redefinition. The first sub-forum of "A Dialogue with the World · Pacific Future Forum 2020" - the diplomacy sub-forum - was titled "China-US Relations and Asia-Pacific Order" and focused on China-US Relations and their impacts on the international community with the expectation that a new paradigm of interactions between big powers could be reached through dialogue and discussion.
