On July 8, 2019, The launching ceremony of the Advanced Study Program For People-to-People Exchange was held in Beijing. Yuan Ming, Professor of the School of International Studies of Peking University, Member of the Academic Committee of Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (formerly known as CUPPE) and Dean of Yenching Academy, was invited. At the launching ceremony, Sun Yao, Vice Minister of Education, awarded Yuan Ming a letter of appointment for specially invited experts of the Advanced Study Program For People-to-People Exchange.
After the ceremony, Yuan Ming delivered a lecture named “People-to-People Exchange Witnessing Major Changes Unfolding in Our World, Something Unseen in A Century-Stabilizing Forces in an Uncertain World”. People-to-People Exchange plays a fundamental and leading role in foreign relations. Her lecture focused on exploring new forms of cooperation and promoting mutual understandings between civilizations facing the complex situations. She mentioned that Yenching Academy has been exploring how to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries based on education since its establishment.
The Advanced Study Program For People-to-People Exchange aims to enhance officers’ understanding of the new tasks of people-to-people exchange in new era through training and exchanges, and build a platform for the practice and experience sharing of people-to-people exchange.
