LIANG Haiming

LIANG Haiming, male, is the Chief Economist and President of China Silk Road iValley Research Institute and President of Belt and Road Research Institute of Hainan University. He serves as the delegate of Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Executive Director of China Cloud System Pioneer Strategic Alliance, member of the Academic Committee of Qinghai Institute of Silk Road Economic Belt, senior consultant of Enterprise Development Research Institute of Jinan University, member of the Academic Committee of the Pangoal Institution, columnist of Finance for Finance Times (China) and commentator on economics of CCTV. He is known for researches on Belt and Road Initiative.

In April 2020, LIANG published the paper Electric power development associated with the Belt and Road Initiative and its carbon emissions implications co-authored by Professor Michael Celia, member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and Director of Princeton Environmental Institute, and his PhD student Tao Yiheng on the top journal Applied Energy. This is the very first time when member of NAE took part in research and paper-writing on Belt and Road Initiative since it was proposed in 2013.
