SHEN Dan, female, Han Ethnicity, was born in April 1958 in Changsha, Hunan Province. With a PhD at University of Edinburgh (UK), she is the Chairman of the Division of Humanities, a Boya professor and doctoral supervisor of Peking University, a Distinguished Professor of “The Yangtze River Scholar” by Ministry of Education, a deputy to the 9th, 10th, and 11th National People’s Congress, a member of the 12th National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Vice Chairman of China Society of Foreign Literature, and the Chairman of the Division of Narratology of China Society of Chinese and Foreign Literature and Arts Theories. She published in domestic and foreign academic journals, reference books and paper collections about 180 articles, of which about 40 published in journals were ever retrieved in the international index A&HCI and over 80 were published domestically in the source journals of CSSCI. Professor SHEN mainly studies English language and literature, narrative theory and fictional interpretation, stylistics and translation studies.
