​ZHANG Daqing

ZHANG Daqing, male, was born in 1959. He obtained a doctoral degree in medical history in Peking University Health Science Center. He is professor and director of the Research Center of Medical History of Peking University, director of public teaching department of Peking University Health Science Center, dean of the School of Heal Humanities, Peking University and curator of the Medical Library of Peking University. He also does part-times jobs as vice-chairman of Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology, vice-chairman of the Chinese Society for the Dialectics of Nature and director of the panel for medical science and philosophy, and deputy director of the steering committee of medical and humanities courses. His main research fields are the history of Western medical thoughts, in particular the history of modern medical thoughts and the history of Western medical culture; the modern history of medical science in China, in particular the spread of modern Western medical science in China; medical ethics and bioethics; humanities education in medical science. In 2009, he won the award for distinguished talents in Peking University Health Science Center. In 2008, he was granted by the State Council a special allowance.
