Recently, an article by Prof. Wang Dong (Professor of the School of International Studies at PKU; Executive Director of iGCU) on the importance of a stable China-US relationship and the significance of expanding people-to-people exchanges was published in People's Daily.

Prof Wang points out that China-US relations are one of the world's most important bilateral relations. Thus, the two countries should avoid falling into the“Thucydides trap” and collaborate to promote sound and stable development of the bilateral ties for their people's sake and the world.

Mentioning the spirit of the Flying Tigers and how it propelled China-U.S. cooperation, Prof Wang wishes that the legacy would be passed on and continue to inspire future generations of the two countries, as the hope and foundation of China-U.S.relations lies in the people, especially the youth. He further calls for strengthening various forms of cultural and people-to-people exchanges, fostering mutual understanding and friendship, and passing on the spirit of cooperation to future generations.

Prof. Wang concludes by emphasizing the benefits of a healthy and stable China-U.S. relationship for both countries and the world and encourages the United States to respond positively to the call for cooperation and mutual understanding.
