People-to-people bonds are placed as a crucial part in consolidating the relationships between countries. The development of China-U.S. relations is always accompanied by the friendly exchanges between two countries. Professor Ezra Feivel Vogel, a prominent expert on China, was also one of the American scholars who had advocated the U.S.’ involvement with China at the very early stages. Prof. Vogel had dedicated to promoting healthy and stable Sino-U.S. relations.

Prof. Vogel has made indelible contributions in promoting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing the mutual understanding and consolidating the friendship between China and the U.S.

To commemorate Prof. Vogel and to facilitate in-depth communications between Chinese and American scholars, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries , the Institute for Global Cooperation, and Understanding at Peking University jointly hosted a symposium entitled “Ezra Vogel and China-U.S. Relations” on the 20th of January, 2020. Several scholars shared their stories on working with Prof. Vogel, they encapsulated Prof. Vogel’s efforts in promoting amicable Sino-America relations and bilateral exchanges.They also provided advice on how to develop China-U.S. relations in a better way.
