On May 7, 2024, the Malaysia-China Commemorative Forum was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. Prof. WANG Dong attended the Forum. The Forum featured govorment tofficials, scholars, and experts, including Chinese Amb. to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing and Malaysia’s Dep. Minister of Energy Transition & Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, to explore ways of deepening the bilateral partnership. Prof. Wang Dong gave a keynote speech during the panel discussion session on “Enhancing Malaysia-China Partnership Building for the Past 50 Years”. He suggested several key directions to advance future China-Malaysia cooperation. Specifically, he stressed enhancing mutual political trust, levels of communications, and bilateraland multilateral cooperationvis-à-visinfrastructure, high-tech, and connectivity under the BRI. Prof. Wang also highlighted the significance of strengthening communications and exchanges ineducation, culture, and music, as well as cooperationon anti-terrorism and other relevant areas to create a peaceful, prosperous, and stable living environmentfor both sides.
