Dean Jia Qingguo Invited to Give Lecture at 2nd Session of Education and Training Courses for Chinese and Korean Celebrities

On May 30thand 31st, 2018, Dean Jia Qingguo was Invited by Ambassador Qiu Guohong of the China Embassy in South Korea to give a lecture on the 2ndsession of education and training courses for Chinese and Korean celebrities in Seoul. The lecture was held on the morning of May 31st. This is the last in the series of lectures co-hosted by the China Embassy in South Korea, the 21stCentury South Korea-China Exchange Association and the Youth Leaders' Forum of South Korea's National Assembly. The attendees included members of South Korea's National Assembly, elder statesmen, senior media leaders, senior enterprise managers and elites from all walks of life. The trainees were mainly South Korean, along with several representatives from Chinese-funded institutions in South Korea. On the theme "China-US Relations and the North Korea Nuclear Issue," Dean Jia Qingguo briefed the delegates on significant problems in China-US relations, the causes of such issues, the future development of China-US relations and potential impacts on the North Korea nuclear issue.

During the visit to South Korea, Dean Jia Qingguo and Han Fangming, President of the Charhar Institute, visited the Korea National Diplomatic Academy and held a symposium with Ambassador Cho Byung Jae, Dean of the Academy, and other researchers on China-ROK relations and the North Korea nuclear issue. The Chinese participants included Ning Fukui, Former Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, Zhang Guobin, Secretary-General of the Charhar Institute, Zhu Feng, Dean of the Institute of International Relations of Nanjing University, and Zhao Kejin, Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University. Both sides held an in-depth exchange on current China-US relations and the meeting of the leaders of the US and DPRK in Singapore.

On the evening of May 30th, invited by Kim Han Gyu, President of the 21stCentury South Korea-China Exchange Association, Dean Jia Qingguo, Han Fangming and other representatives from The Charhar Institute attended a banquet at the Millennium Hilton Hotel and exchanged views with several well-known South Korean entrepreneurs. At the dinner, President Kim Han Gyu reviewed the development of the 21stCentury South Korea-China Exchange Association. In the past three decades, President Kim Han Gyu has been to China many times and made more than 500 round trips between China and South Korea, making significant contributions to the harmonious development of China-ROK relations. Dean Jia Qingguo briefed the guests on the development of the School of International Studies of Peking University and the South Korean students in the school.
