In November 2020, DA Wei, Deputy Director of Center for International Security and Strategy and professor at School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, was interviewed by "Trump Takes on the World" produced by Brook Lapping in the United Kingdom, which was released on the BBC website after Biden officially took office as president.
In the interview, DA Wei mainly focused on the North Korean nuclear issue and China-U.S. relations. DA Wei pointed out the fundamental reason of North Korea's development of nuclear technology was its sense of insecurity. China was willing to help relevant parties to achieve dialogue and provide assistance for the peaceful settlement of the peninsula issue, but it was impossible for China to replace the United States in solving peninsula issue.
