Q&A
1.Can you talk about the experiences from Latin American, especially the developing countries and relation with macro about local and regional integration with smart cities?
I think, at this moment, it is a very special era where Mexico and the Caribbean cities, to implement regional integration. For example, just as to share some background or pulling some context, the place that I have visited the most since I arrive here, is Shenzhen. Because it is an area around the very bay area that has developed quite fast and has an access to transfer technology that is the key element making implementation of smart cities. So, on that side, the transfer technology is something that can be achieved in and is something that developing countries that are aiming to have access to. So in our cases, Mexico sees the opportunity to bring this transfer technology through the implementation of the smart cities.
And going back to develop financial mechanisms that can speed (up) or give a fast track to implementation of this. Because of implementation, development of startups now are going to into the market and have an fantastic experience on technology. And that can, help on one specific area that I am not sure if could fit specifically on the smart cities, but aiming to inspire you to your question, the relation between the country such Mexico in Caribbean area. And one thing that we see is on supply chain.
2.Many said that Chinese cities are built at a much higher level than those in North American countries. Based on your experience, do you think it is a credible statement? Concerning that the trend of globalization has greatly affected the economic and financial relations between countries as well as the construction of smart financial systems for smart cities, do you your mind share your opinions on that.
I would say that there are opportunities all around the world. And as we are talking about regional integration, how can we take opportunity of everyone’s advantages, knowledge, expertise, and strengths, so that with that we can develop a collaboration. By all means that China, in that regards, has its own strengths, its own opportunities and also Mexico as well as everyone all around the world. We Mexico believe that we need to collaborate. We are open for business and we need to find opportunities that are all around. In that sense, there are some strengths that we can bring to the table and China and we can work on that. I think that would be my answer. I mean, cooperation is always optimistic.
