Overseas Study and Research

 

·In January 2013, commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Prof. Jia Qingguo, Director of Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (iGCU), led a delegation on a 10-day intensive high-end study tour in the US.

·In September 2014, Prof. Jia Qingguo, Dean of the School of International Studies of Peking University and Director of the iGCU, led the 45th MFA experts and scholars panel on a visit to Washington, the US capital, and New York.

·FromJune 19 to 22, 2017, Prof. Jia Qingguo visited the US, and attended and delivered speeches at scholarly symposiums in Columbia University, the National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP), Heritage Foundation, Peterson Institute for International Economics and Brookings Institution.

·On May 19, 2018, Prof. Jia Qingguo and his party visitedUS Council on Foreign Relationsand multiple other think tanks, and talked with Doctor Henry Kissinger.

·In 2018, Prof. Jia Qingguo participated in China-US civil space dialogues studying and discussing US policy towards China.

·In 2018, Prof. Jia Qingguo attended the China-US-South Korea Trilateral Dialogue for the study and discussions on China-US relations and Korean Peninsula issues.

·On May 19, 2018, Prof. Jia Qingguo and his partyvisitedthe US Council on Foreign Relationsand multiple other think tanks, and talked with Doctor Henry Kissinger.

·In June 2019,Prof. Jia Qingguo, upon the invitation by the MFA, led a delegation to Washington and Chicago in the US for study and research.

·In June 2019,Prof. Jia Qingguo, upon the invitation by the Taiwan Affairs Office, visited the US for dialogues on Taiwan issues between Taiwan Affairs Office delegation and the NCAFP.

·In 2019, Prof. Jia Qingguo attended China-US civil space dialogue to study and discuss US policy towards China.

·On July 16, 2019, upon invitation, Prof. Jia Qingguo went to Washington to attend the China-US Strategic Competition Management Seminar.

·In 2005, Prof. Jia Qingguo welcomed US Secretary of StateCondoleezza Rice.

·In May 2009, Prof. Jia Qingguo receivedJohn Kerry, Chairman of US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and his party.

·On June 8, 2013, Prof. Yuan Ming andMadeleine Albright,former US Secretary of State, held a dialogue.

·On June 18, 2013, DoctorRichard Haass, President of US Council on Foreign Relations, paid a visit.

·On October 22, 2013, Doctor Burn Loeffke, an retired Major General of the US, lectured on China-US relations.

·On February 21, 2014, Prof. Jia Qingguo chaired the symposium with Raymond Odierno, Chief of Staff of the US Army.

·On October 24, 2014, John Lenhard, Chief Representative of US-China Business Council (USCBC) Beijing Office, and his party paid a visit.

·On June 13, 2015, members of Leadership Elite Training Program of the American Mandarin Society came to visit.

·On June 17, 2015, mission from the West Point in the US visited, and a Seminar on China-US Relations was held.

·On November 13, 2015, Prof. Yuan Ming met with US Senate Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s delegation.

·On November 19, 2015, a delegation from the EastWest Institute (EWI) paid a visit.

·On December 14, 2015, US National Committee on United States-China Relations led a delegation of senior assistants to Congress staff to come for a visit.

·From June 5 to 7, 2016, 2016 China·United States University and Think Tank Forum, co-hosted by Peking University and Stanford University, and co-organized by Institute for China-US People-to-People Exchange of the MFA and Stanford Center at Peking University, was successfully held at the School of International Studies and Stanford Center of Peking University.

·January 11, 2018, scholars from Fairbank Center for China Studies, Harvard University came for a visit, and the“China-US Relations in the New Era: New Opportunities and New Challenges”Round-table Session was held.

·On March 5, 2018, Associate Professor Wang Dong called US Congressmen and exchanged opinions on China-US relations and the Korean nuclear issue.

·On March 23, 2018, Associate Professor Wang Dong talked with Ms.Anja Manuel, former assistant to Deputy Secretary of State of the US.

·On December 6, 2018, Associate Professor Wang Dong communicated with a delegation from the NCAFP, and delivered opening remarks as a representative of young scholars.

·On December 7, 2018, Wang Dong was invited to attend the“China-US Think Tank”Round-table Dialogue and served as the guest host.

·From November 18 to 19, 2019, upon invitation, Associate Professor Wang Dong attended the 11th US-China Political Party Leaders Dialogue and China-US Business Round-table, and delivered a speech themed“Forty Years of Me and China-US Relations”during the luncheon.

·From November 20 to 21, 2019, Associate Professor Wang Dong was invited to attend the“US Presidential Election and China-US Relations”young and mid-aged scholars forum, co-organized by the Shanghai Institute for International Strategic Studies (SIISS) and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS).

·On December 17, 2019, Associate Professor Wang Dong attended the“2019 Chinese Think Tank International Presence Forum”, and spoke on“China-US Think Tank Relations in the New Era”at the“China-US Game and Think Tank Responsibilities”.
