LI Zhaoxing, male, was born in October 1940 in Jiaonan, Shandong Province. He achieved his bachelor’s degree at Peking University and now serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor at Nankai University. LI is currently the President of China Public Diplomacy Association, Honorary President of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Honorary President of Association of Former Diplomats of China, and Chief Advisor to the Translators Association of China (TAC). He used to be the Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Permanent Representative of the PRC to the United Nations, Chinese Ambassador to the United States, alternate member of the 15th CPC Central Committee, member of the 16th CPC Central Committee, member of the 11th Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 12th NPC, President of TAC and Honorary President of CPIFA.
