ZHANG Baijia, male, Han Ethnicity, was born in January 1948 in Sanmen, Zhejiang Province. He is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and achieved his master’s degree in History of the Republic of China, Department of Modern History, Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. ZHANG once served as the former Deputy Director of Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, former Director of the NO.1 Office on China’s Foreign Relations of Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of Research on the Historical Figures of the CPC, member of the Constitution and Law Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress of the PRC. Currently, he is a professor of Department of History, Peking University and professor of Department of the Party History, Renmin University of China, member of the Academic Committee of Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and academic committee member of China Foundation for International Strategic Studies. He has long been engaged in research on the Party history, China’s modern history, and diplomatic history, and has focused on the research on the history of reform and opening up in recent years.
