CHEN Wenling, female, Han Ethnicity, obtained her PhD in Economics at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She is a prominent economist in China, as well as a researcher and doctoral supervisor. CHEN serves as the Chief Economist and Deputy Director of the Executive Board and Academic Committee at the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, former Director of the Research Office of the State Council, member of the First Consulting Expert Committee on Healthcare System Reform and the First Consulting Expert Committee on Food Safety of the State Council, expert of the Ministry of Commerce, member of China Distribution 30 Member Forum and member of China Cultural Industries 30 Member Forum. In addition, CHEN is also a doctoral supervisor of Nankai University, University of International Business and Economics and Beijing Normal University, and an adjunct professor of Peking University, Beijing Wuzi University, Shanghai Maritime University, Nanjing Institute of Finance and Economics, etc. She also serves as the Vice President of China Marketing Association, China Commerce and Economics Association, China Society of Logistics, Pacific Society of China, and China Society of Urban Economy. As a researcher, she mainly focuses on international strategy, international economy, macroeconomy, modern distribution, modern commerce, etc. and has led major projects of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council associated with regional strategy, opening up to the outside world, modern distribution, modern logistics, reform on medical and healthcare systems, with investigation reports commented and approved by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Furthermore, CHEN has given specialized lectures titled Ways to Do In-depth Research on Decision-making for members of around 20 ministries and commissions, and obtained the first and second prizes, and Important Research Achievement Prize awarded by the Research Office of the State Council for a dozen times, and was honored as the Excellent Public Servant for several times. In 2009, CHEN was also awarded with the May-First Labor Medal.
