SHI Yinhong, male, was born in March 1951 in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. He acquired his PhD in History of International Relations at Nanjing University and worked as the professor of History Studies of Nanjing University, Vice Dean of the School of Literature, doctoral supervisor of International Relations Studies, and researcher of Institute of American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In 1998, he was specially approved to enlist in the People’s Liberation Army, working as the director, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the Center for International and Strategic Studies of Chinese people’s Liberation Army University of International Relations of Nanjing. SHI has been teaching at the School of International Studies of Renmin University of China since 2001. Today he works as the Director of the Academic Committee of School of International Studies, professor, doctoral supervisor and Director of U.S. Research Center of Renmin University of China, as well as the President of the American History Research Association of China, Director of Chinese Society for European Studies, Director of the Research Council of History of China-U.S. relations Studies, etc. In 2011, SHI was appointed to be the consultant of the State Council. In May 2015, he was employed as an adjunct professor of Politics and International Relations Department of Tongji University. Currently, he researches on theories and thoughts on international relations, history of international relations, contemporary international politics and strategies, as well as foreign policies of the U.S. and China.
