XU Hong

XU Hong, female, Han nationality, was born in Beijing in 1945. Executive deputy dean and Professor of School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University. She is the executive deputy dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University, and receives the special allowance granted by the State Council. She is also the director of Center for Financial News Studies of Peking University. As a senior journalist, she was the director of Beijing branch of China News Service, deputy secretary-general of Beijing Association for Women Journalists, professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Journalism of Renmin Univsersity, full-time research fellow of Research Center of Journalism and Social Development of Renmin University, director of Research Institute of Journalism and Communication of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a part-time professor of School of Humanities of Tsinghua University. Her main research fields are journalistic practice studies, financial news studies and news report on China for foreign audience studies. She also co-authored with Liu Minghua and Zhang Zhenghe the textbook on News Writing (as part of the 21^st Century Serial Teaching Materials in Journalism and Communication), and authored Somebody and Nobody (a treatise on feature interviews),etc.
