ZHANG Jianping, male, obtained his PhD in Economics at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is the Deputy Director of Academic Steering Committee of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Director General of Center for Regional Economic Cooperation and the Director of Department of Western Asian and African Affairs of Ministry of Commerce, and a research fellow and doctoral supervisor. He is also the Vice President of the China Research Association of Social and Economic System, a member of the China National committee of PECC, an executive director of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs as well as Chinese Association for International Understanding, a member of the Expert Group of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and a commentator of CCTV, Phoenix TV, CRI and CNR. He specializes in international economy, especially international regional cooperation and China’s outward investment. He has organized over 60 study projects, and offered consultancy and conducted research 30 times for the United Nations, World Bank and other international institutions. He was once invited by the State Council Information Office to introduce the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS summit to the media circle. Besides, ZHANG has provided consultancy for Shuvalov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and has delivered speeches at ICTSD, CSIS, Adam Smith, ADBI and other international think tanks. He has published over a hundred of papers and four monographs, received the third awards for scientific research achievements at ministerial and provincial-level for five times and the first award of Academy of Macroeconomic Research of the National Development and Reform Commission for three consecutive years.
