On May 19, Professor Wang Jisi (Peking University Boya Chair Professor Emeritus; iGCU Academic Committee Member) sat for an exclusive interview with Mr. James Chau(Host of‘At Large’, the in-house podcast of China-US Focus) talking about Sino-US relations.

During the interview, Professor Wang discussed his two trips to the U.S. in 2022, predicted progress on trade relations, people-to-people exchanges and face-to-face meetings between China and the U.S., and further discussed the “right way” for China and the U.S. to collaborate in a complex world.

Regarding the current tension between China and the U.S., Professor Wang suggested that the domestic political background and the atmosphere in the two countries would play decisive roles in shaping China-U.S. relations. He believes that some good signs exist in the US-China relationship, although restoring the traditional practices between the two societies will take a long time.
