Charles Manning and the English School

[Author] ZHANG Xiaoming

[Abstract]Charles Manning's relationship with the English School has been a disputed issue by far.The various answers in effect have shown differenti nterpretations of the origins of the English School. Manning' s original thinking on the international society and his influence on Martin Wight, Hedley Bull and other English School scholars have made himself a member of the English School. However, it was because of his "idiosyncratic" style and racist attitude that some English School scholars have kept a distance away from him.
